Crazy fun and super catchy, EGOISM doesn’t hide from what makes them tick. They wear their influences like a badge of honor while still carving out some fresh feeling within a familiar canon. We hear a bit of Breeders and Veruca Salt in their stylistic new single It Takes Two. The video is fun and it really emphasizes how the members compliment each other. It also accentuates Olive’s star power. We love her energy.
Rock and roll girls can still embrace a party when you’re talking about Kid Sistr and their new single Accelerator. The energy is infectious and the buzz is electrifying. Watch the video below and then see them this fall as they tour the US opening for the Wrecks. Just a few more big opener spots and we think its headline tours to infinity. Say you knew them when. Charisma this infectious can’t stay down. We see Paramore level stardom in their future!
BODEGA find unlikely inspiration in the music of Bob Dylan; but seriously who doesn’t. They honor that influence with an adapted cover of his song Slow Train. To be clear, the BODEGA verion has little in common with the original but still makes absolute sense. This is why we love Bob Dylan, you can take anything he does and make it your own. BODEGA shows its all about the approach. Their version is freaking fantastic. It would make Turnstile jealous (ie we think this is the music they want to make lol) When we’re looking for covers that challenge the original version, this is what we’re talking about. An influence of 80s alternative and 90s trip hop make Bob Dylan’s music sound modern. The video just adds to the allure. We’re into it!
A dark noir color palette illuminates the refreshing angst and melodic contrast brought by Reserver and their new single Heart is a Bomb. The guitars bring noisy explosive thrashes then intersect them jangly dirty verses as a moody vocal lifts over the cascade of drum and string. Reserver is the punkier Interpol, but only for a moment. Creatively we’ve noticed they’re music always makes sense together but their songwriting is never derivative. They write solid hooks too. Watch the vid and love this song!
The city is still your dreamy playground full of wonder. Buildings look bigger and future feels ever present as the band byebye99 frolics and daydreams in the scenes of their new video skytrace. The vibe mirrors their musics dreamy urban blend. A homage to trip hop and dream pop equally. Eyes wide shut or completely open, we love their blend!
